Returning from the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War with a life-changing disability made Brian Q Foley an angry young man. Not being able to hear and hold conversations was one of the most frustrating periods of his life. It wasn't until he received bilateral hearing aids and talked to other disabled veterans did things turn around.
The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.— Gandhi
Thus began Mr. Foley's journey.
As a carpenter apprentice Brian started helping in many projects for those who had served. Working with the Vietnam Veterans of America, of which Brian is a lifetime member, he helped raise the money and repair 5 homes for disabled veterans. He also helped coordinate and fund the 25th Anniversary of "the Vietnam Wall" in Washington DC on November 7, 2007 — the first "Welcome Home Parade" for Vietnam veterans.
Brian also worked many years on the largest Veterans Day Parade, in NYC, helping organize, coordinate, and fundraise to ensure all veterans received a warm "Welcome Home"!
Most recently, in 2016, Brian helped his wife establish the United States Veteran Chamber of Commerce (USVCC) — a place where veteran-owned businesses around the country can work with corporations on large contracts. While working with his wife on USVCC, Brian decided to form his own company and get veterans jobs, so he started USA Veteran Builders.
Brian resides in Forest Hills, N.Y. with his wife, and has 5 children and 11 grandchildren. He is very proud of his son, who currently serves in the United States Air Force as a Captain.
Brian is also involved with both the Invictus Games and The Warrior Games, which are Department of Defense events.
